Made to Order is simply request for a product to be made like one of the items previously sold from my store. Minor changes or preferences can be accommodated by adding those notes to the order page, such as a different interior colour or different hardware finish, but generally it is a clone of a previous item that you find desirable. And remember, due to pattern placement no two items I make are ever really identical, so every one of my customers does really receive a unique product!

Custom orders (called Design Your Own) takes a different approach where every aspect of the wallet or bag can be customized. These take longer than Made to Order. Please see the next item below.

Design your own means pretty well every aspect of the design is custom with your choice of fabrics, patterns, style and hardware. Pick everything that goes into the final item, or just pick the key exterior fabric or cork and leave it to me to present ideas on finishing touches!

From helping to design one or a hundred wallets or bags, to branding bags, cases or wallets with your company logo (or maybe that photo of the grandkids or your dog!), I have been working with my customers since 2017 to build their vision.

The various pages on the site show current and past creations, to provide inspiration on fabric, wallet and bag styles, and hardware options. So browse around then either hit our new Design Your Own configuration area (COMING SOON), or simply reach out to me to start your custom order. Either way you you can design your perfect piece.

Every piece is hand made by me (Jane), including sourcing the material and hardware necessary to realize your design vision. Then your order is carefully built to ensure many years of satisfaction.

Once I know the availability of the fabrics and hardware needed to meet your design goals, I can provide you with a fairly reasonable estimation of when you will receive your custom creation. Please contact me to discuss your ideas and approximate build time. And let me know if one or more custom wallets is required for a special occasion -- I will try to ensure you have your wallet in time.

I'd hate to see you change your mind, but it can happen. And my policy is simple: If the wallet or bag is using materials not specific to you personally or your business (e.g., not a custom fabric ordered with your company logo or photo), then yes, you can cancel your order any time prior to shipment.

But if I have ordered custom fabric at your request, or your design integrates a personal memento that you provided, then I regret I cannot cancel or refund the order.

Unfortunately, shipping costs makes doing such impractical.

All fabric is sourced from quality small (local) and large retailers in Canada and the US. If you are in the GTA and want to drop by my place in Pickering, I'd be delighted to show you what material your wallet or bag will be made from - just call for an appointment. I will also answer any questions via email about any fabric you are considering and can provide photos.

Yes! When you're ready to replace a worn out item it's a great idea to "upcycle" it into something new that you'll enjoy for years - instead of it becoming more landfill.

The type and condition of the fabric will dictate where the material is best applied. And for something relatively small like a tie, it could handsomely form an accent piece on the inside of the item.

For larger pieces of fabric, like an unworn skirt or favourite old pair of jeans, I can re-purpose those inside or outside as the fabric condition allows.

If designing with your own fabric in mind, you can choose the hardware, accent colours and/or theme to complement the fabric, or you can leave it to me to surprise you once I get an idea of what you like (and what you don't).

You will be responsible for shipping or dropping off your fabric to me. And if you request such, I can return the unused material that you provided along with the finished product.

Yes! The only requirement is the photograph be sharp/in focus, not too dark, and the composition of the image (e.g., horizontal or vertical) be suitable for the intended product.

Once I have your photo I will contract for custom fabric to be made using the photo. Contact me if you need more info or guidelines.
